Severn restaurant robbed at gunpoint

A gunman robbed a Severn fast-food restaurant Friday, county police reported.

Police said a black man, wearing a blue shirt and shorts with a sailor's hat, walked into the Subway sub shop in the 3400 block of Fort Meade Road at 8:30 p.m. and took out a revolver.

He told the clerk he wanted money, and the clerk handed it to him, police said. The man was seen leaving the parking lot of the store in a dark-colored Chevy Nova, police said.

Burger King robbed in Glen Burnie

A Burger King restaurant in Glen Burnie was robbed Sunday by a man who claimed to have a gun in a yellow bag, police said.

Police said the gunman walked into the restaurant in the 5500 block of Ritchie Highway and pointed the yellow bag at the clerk.

"This is a stickup, hit the floor," the robber told the female clerk. When she did, he jumped over the counter and ran to the safe. The man took all the money out of the safe and ran out of the store.

The robber is described as a black male, about 6-foot-1 and 20 years old. He was wearing a blue-hooded sweat shirt and dark-gray sweat pants.

Police say man tried to escape from officer

A 29-year-old Annapolis man was charged Saturday with trying to escape when a police officer picked him up on an outstanding warrant, police said.

When Tasker was caught, the officer frisked him and allegedly found an 8-inch butcher knife and a homemade crack pipe, police said. Police charged Tasker with resisting arrest, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, having drug paraphernalia and a prior theft charge.
