ABC News boss Roone Arledge may be courting another CBS female anchorstar.

Buzz in New York is that Mr. Arledge, who lured Diane Sawyer away from "60 Minutes" a few years ago, is talking to Con

nie Chung about jumping ship. Again. (She went from CBS to NBC to CBS.) Ms. Chung's $1 million-a-year CBS contract has expired and she's working month-to-month.

ABC is looking for a co-anchor to join Forrest Sawyer on its new newsmagazine. (It's been pushed back to midseason.) Ms.

Chung hasn't had much to do at CBS except anchor the Sunday "CBS Evening News" and do an occasional "Face to Face" special.

Ms. Chung has been working part time since July '90 so she can "aggressively pursue" getting pregnant with her husband, syndicated talk show host Maury Povich.
