Motorist robs man on Ritchie Highway

A 21-year-old man told police he was robbed and abducted early Saturday while walking along Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park.

Alexander Lonnie Lee, of the 1200 block of Kenwood Drive in Glen Burnie, said he was picked up by a man driving an older-model Chevrolet van at about 2:30 a.m.

Once in the car, he said the man threatened him with a blue steel handgun and demanded money. After obtaining an unknown amount of money, the man dropped off Lee at a nearby apartment complex.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s. He was heavy-set and wearing glasses, a black leather jacket and jeans. He had collar-length dark hair, a beard and a mustache.

Truck driver robbed at gunpoint Friday

A truck driver who stopped at a telephone rest stop on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway Friday evening was robbed of his daily receipts.

Legrand Leonard, 37, of Baltimore told police that when his truck's engine overheated at about 6 p.m., he pulled into the rest area between exits for routes 175 and 176.

He said a man with a silver pistol held him up, escaped with proceeds from the day's deliveries and drove south on the parkway in a black BMW.
