Yankees use rally to edge Suns, 3-2

ALBANY, N.Y. -- John Viera's two-run single in the fourth inning provided the winning margin as the Albany Yankees defeated the Hagerstown Suns, 3-2, yesterday in a Double-A Carolina League game.

Viera's single, which scored Russ Davis and Don Sparks, capped a three-run rally by the Yankees (15-19).

Hagerstown (14-19) jumped to 2-0 lead, getting single runs in first and second inning on infield ground outs by Mark Smith and Cesar Devares.

Devares, Tim Holland and Sergio Cairo each had two hits for Hagerstown.
