Underwood's no-hitter lifts Dulaney

Left-hander Paul Underwood (8-1) pitched a no-hitter, striking out 14, as host Dulaney beat High Point, 18-0, in a state Class 4A, Region II semifinal yesterday.

Justin Goldman was 3-for-3 with a triple and four RBI for Dulaney.

In other state regional semifinals yesterday:

Senior Adam Keim went 3-for-3 and had four stolen bases, as host Lansdowne beat C. Milton Wright, 10-2, in a Class 3A, Region II game. Randy Musgrove (4-2) was the winning pitcher, striking out five.

John Kopajtic singled with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning, Overlea edged visiting Mt. Hebron, 7-6, in a Class 2A, Region II game. Mark Truszkowski (6-1) got the win, pitching three shutout innings.

Patapsco defeated visiting Hereford, 5-0, in a Class 2A, Region II game as Mike Coleman pitched a two-hitter striking out nine. Junior second baseman Scott Palmerino was 3-for-4 with two RBI, and first baseman Mike Gemmill also had two RBI.

Winning pitcher Jeff Vincent helped his own cause by going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI as visiting Broadneck defeated top-seed Severna Park, 5-4, in a Class 4A, Region IV game. Steve Neuberger was 4-for-4 for Severna Park with two home runs and three RBI.

Danny Brown struck out 10 and allowed just two hits as host Perry Hall defeated Eleanor Roosevelt of Prince George's County, 8-0, in a Class 4A, Region II contest. Jeff Burrows went 2-for-3 and Craig Bevins was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI for the Gators.

Damon Davies struck out nine and improved his record to 6-0 as host Joppatowne routed Bohemia Manor, 16-0, in a Class 1A, Region III matchup. Sophomore Cable Miller led the Mariners' attack, going 3-for-5 with a triple and six RBI.
