Unranked and No. 4 seed Archbishop Spalding rallied from a 6-1 deficit and defeated top-ranked Mount St. Joseph, 7-6, in eight innings yesterday in the MSA A Conference baseball tournament.

The Cavaliers (12-10), who got hammered by Calvert Hall, 14-2, in the first round of the double-elimination tournament on Wednesday, trailed the top-seeded Gaels 6-1 after two innings, but tied the score at 6-6 in the fifth inning after a two-run double by senior Jeff Paxson.

John Hall scored the winning run on Brian Barth's squeeze bunt in the top of the eighth.
