He wanted work, and no bull

May 13, 1992

There was a surprise arrival this week at Pimlico -- at least to Bill Donovan, the Maryland trainer of Preakness probable Dash for Dotty.

Donovan was called to the stable gate.

"Here's this big Indian guy and I've never seen him before in my life," Donovan said. "He says his name is Tony Sitting Bull, he's the great grandson of Chief Sitting Bull, and he's just arrived from Albuquerque with one dollar and his wife and child in the truck. He was told to look me up."

Tony Sitting Bull was hired by Donovan as a hot walker.
