Hammer cancels

May 13, 1992

Tonight's Hammer concert at the Baltimore Arena, also featuring Boyz II Men and Jodeci, has been canceled. Ticket holders can get refunds from point of purchase through May 27, according to Arena officials.

Asked whether poor ticket sales resulted in the cancellation, Maren Blum, assistant director of public relations at the Arena, referred questions to Hammer's publicist. Scott Gorenstein, the publicist, would say only that the concert was canceled "due to circumstances beyond our control." Neither Ms. Blum nor Mr. Gorenstein said they knew how many tickets were sold for the concert.

The Pier Six Concert Pavilion will exchange tickets to the Hammer show for tickets to the Color Me Badd show tonight at Pier Six. The offer is only for patrons who purchased Hammer tickets with cash. There will be an additional 50-cent charge and tickets can only be exchanged at the Pier Six box office. For more information, call the box office at 625-1400.
