WESTMINSTER -- The Westminster boys and girls had their way in the Carroll County track and field championships yesterday at Western Maryland College.
The boys won their 11th straight county title, outdistancing second-place Francis Scott Key, 165 1/2 -79. Led by Stephanie Morningstar, the girls took their third straight title, 157-68, over runner-up Key.
The Westminster boys overall depth was too much for their opponents. Seven Owls won events, led by Brent Black -- who took the shot put and discus. North Carroll's Will Lerp won the 100 and 200 meters.
