Open house

Russett, a 613-acre planned community located midway between Washington and Baltimore, is having a Festival of Homes to celebrate 13 new model homes Saturday and and Sunday.

As a part of the festivities, energy consultants, interior designers, professional landscape consultants and other experts of interest to new home buyers will be available to offer advice to festival visitors.

Loews' golf deal

Loews Annapolis Hotel announced its 1992 Summer Golf Meeting Package.

Beginning July 1, golfers can flee the Washington area with "Ball and Tee" for only $190 per person. The "Fun, Sun, a Hole in One" package includes transportation from Washington, Maryland or Virginia to Loews Annapolis Hotel. Also included is a complimentary meeting room, continental breakfast, box lunch, and, for every 20 rooms booked, a complimentary staff room.

The package is offered to groups of 20 or more, depending on how many rooms are available.

'It's Good Business'

The Anne Arundel Trade Council is in its second month of production for its regularly scheduled cable television program, "It's Good Business." The program provides tips from the county's business leaders and promotes a positive image of business in the community.

The host of the show is Jeanette Wessel, Trade Council executive vice president, who each month interviews business leaders on different issues.

The show airs at 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 2 p.m. Fridays.

County office honored

The Anne Arundel County Office of Economic Development has won a national award for production of a magazine supplement promoting the BWI Hub, the commercial area surrounding Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

The 24-paged supplement, produced jointly with Crosby Communications Inc., won a Superior Award in the America Economic Development Council's nationwide 1992 Sales Literature and Promotional Materials Competition. Information: 222-7410

Sales at Russett good

Russett, a 613-acre planned community located midway between Washington and Baltimore, reports an excellent sales rate since its opening in June 1991.

With 41 net sales recorded in March, the dollar volume of sales at Russett now exceeds $43 million. Over 5,500 visitors have inspected the variety of town homes and single-family homes offered by the eight builders represented at the Russett community.

Runners deliver roses

Rose Runners, a new floral delivery service in Crofton which specializes in fresh, affordable roses, has delivered more than 950 roses to area companies in its first two weeks of business.

Rose Runners is a division of Dial Wrights Courier Service and offers fast delivery to the Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington areas through radio dispatched vehicles.

Party Palace sign-ups

The Party Palace, a children's action theme party center, announces registration for end-of-school year parties and events.

Physical education instructors provide structured, games and activities for day cares, preschools and Scout groups.

Lease Agreement

BTR Realty Inc. announced the lease for 21,705 square feet in its Gateway International II complex to AT & T.

With this new tenant, Gateway II, a five-story 125,000 square foot building, is approximately 60 percent leased. Located at the Baltimore/Washington International Airport, Gateway II is part of a 36-acre complex which includes a Guest Quarters Suite Hotel and Gateway International I. Information: 684-2000

Marketing organization

The Anne Arundel Arts Marketing Society has been formed in order to provide marketing outlets and functions to market artists throughout the county.

Services provided by the society will include; photographs, press releases, retail sales opportunity, advertising and layout.

Artists in the following media are encouraged to apply: photography, watercolor, acrylics, oils, pastels, drawings pen and ink, monochrome in any media, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, needlework, woodwork and hobby items.

Architects sought

The Chesapeake Bay chapter of the American Institute of Architects is seeking qualified applicants for its annual $500 Architectural Scholarship Award.

The Annapolis Mall recently opened Elegant Images, a high-fashion photography business.

Part of a national chain that is headquartered in Baltimore, Elegant Images provides customers with two hours of pampering designed to "bring out the beauty in everyone."

Highspire manages dock

The Annapolis Marriott Waterfront Hotel has announced that Highspire Yacht Services of Eastport has been hired to manage the 300-foot dock at the hotel.
