Longazel picks Prep School

May 10, 1992

Old Mill's Ernie Longazel, a football player and wrestler, verbally committed to attend the Annapolis Naval Academy's Prep School last week and will sign this week.

Longazel, who maintained a 3.2 grade-point average and scored 1020 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test, was the Patriots' representative to this year's metro area football scholar-athlete awards banquet.

On the mats, Longazel captained the state's first four-time Class 4A-3A champion wrestling team. He won this year's 189-pound county title and his second straight regional crown and finished third in the state tournament for the second consecutive season.
