Glenelg held a 46-44 lead over defending champion Oakland Mills at the conclusion of the first day of the Howard County boys track championships at Oakland Mills yesterday.
Defending champion Hammond led the girls competition over Howard.
Glenelg's Jeff Slack easily won the high jump competition, clearing 6 feet, 4 inches, and teammate Gerard Hogan took first in the 3,200-meter run in 9 minutes, 48.7 seconds.
