Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Police said a deliveryman for a pizza shop was shot early yesterday during a robbery attempt on Gelston Drive. Police said the victim, Fenell McDonald, was about to make a delivery at a house in the 4000 block of Gelston Drive around 1 a.m. when he was accosted by two men, one armed with a handgun who demanded his money. Police said it was not clear why, but the gunman shot Mr. McDonald and fled. Police said the victim was taken to an area hospital. His condition was not immediately available.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Employees of Nu-Dy-Per Service in the 3000 block of Cowan Ave. reported that someone broke into the building between Monday night and yesterday morning and stole more than $1,300 worth of linens. Police said the burglar got into the building by entering a company truck parked outside and allowing it to drift down an incline and into a rear door, which broke open.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 4300 block of Parkton St. reported that someone forced open the front door of his home and stole property valued at nearly $1,200.

THEFT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a man and were holding him at the Eastern District pending charges that he stole property valued at more than $1,000 from the car of a woman he knows. The woman, a resident of the 2400 block of E. Northern Parkway, told police the man stole the property over the weekend while her car was parked near her home.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 6800 block of Sturbridge Drive reported that a woman who visited her over the weekend stole more than $1,500 in jewelry and furniture. Police said a 21-year-old resident of the 4000 block of Norfolk Ave. was being sought in connection with the theft.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police said someone broke into a 1975 Chevrolet parked in the 5100 block of Arabia Ave. over the weekend and stole property valued at $400. The victim, a resident of Arabia Avenue, told police the thief took tools and other items.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police said a 22-year-old resident of the 4400 block of Plainfield Ave. was walking in the 4500 block of Moravia Road early Monday when a car pulled up next to him. Police said the driver, a man, got out of the car and forced the victim to give up his money and property, then drove off.

THEFT: Western District -- Police are seeking a man who entered a dwelling in the 1200 block of Braddish Ave. over the weekend and stole several pieces of clothing and a microwave, all valued at more than $1,000. The victim told police she later learned that the man sold her property.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1000 block of W. Baltimore St. reported that someone forced open the back door to his home during the weekend and stole property valued at $600. Police said the intruder escaped with a VCR and a TV.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police said several work tools and nearly a dozen video and audio tapes were stolen over the weekend after someone broke into a house in the 1000 block of W. Lafayette Ave. Police said the burglar entered the house by forcing the front door.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of W. Mulberry St. told police she was walking near her home Saturday afternoon when she was approached from behind by two men who robbed her of more than $100 in cash. Police said that during the robbery, one of the men struck the woman over the head with a hard object. Police said the woman was not seriously injured.

ROBBERY: Western District -- An Anne Arundel County resident told police he was robbed Saturday morning while walking along West Baltimore Street. The victim, a resident of the 100 block of Magothy Beach Road, reported he was in the 2400 block of W. Baltimore St. around 11 a.m. when he was stopped by two men, one of whom asked him for a quarter. The victim told police that before he could react, one of the men pulled out a handgun and ordered him to give up his money and a beeper he was wearing. Police said the men escaped with more than $100 in cash. The value of the beeper was not known.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported that a female resident of the 1600 block of Spray Court was walking near her home Sunday night when she was attacked from behind by a man who knocked her to the ground and stole her purse. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at nearly $50.

CAB HOLDUP: Western District -- A Diamond cab driver told police he was in the 2300 block of Eutaw Place around 3 p.m. Monday when a fare he had picked up earlier grabbed his money bag and bolted from the cab. Police said the man escaped with about $45 in cash.
