Trade Council mixer

The Anne Arundel Medical Center and the Anne Arundel Trade Council are sponsoring a Business Mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 13 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center's Medical Park, Annapolis.

In recognition of the center's 90th anniversary, festivities will include the book debut of "The First Ninety Years," a historical volume chronicling the hospital's and community's history.

Tickets for members, $8.50 per person in advance, $11 at the door and $20 for non-members. Advanced reservations must by paid by May 8.

Opportunities luncheon

The Opportunities Industrialization Center luncheon will honor Edward L. Gresham, executive director, noon May 13, at the Fleet Reserve Club, Annapolis.

Keynote speaker will be Robert A. Pascal, appointments secretary for the governor.

Golf tournament

The Anne Arundel Trade Council will conduct its ninth Annual Golf Tournament at 11:30 a.m. May 15 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Golf Course, Crownsville.

Food and awards will be offered in the all-day event. Individual and corporate sponsorship participation is encouraged. Golf is limited to the first 36 foursomes. Information: 266-3125.

Exchange program

Local business leaders can stake their share of an expanding new international market by taking part in seminars on doing business in Europe, networking and trade during a week-long trip to West Sussex, England, May 16 through May 24.

The trip is available through the Institute for International Business Practices, an exchange program set up by the Enterprise Center for International Education and Business at Anne Arundel Community College. If offers local business leaders an opportunity to build partnerships with European businesses.

Sales at Russett good

Russett, a 613-acre planned community located midway between Washington and Baltimore, has had an excellent sales rate since its opening in June 1991.

With 41 net sales record in March, the dollar volume of sales at Russett now exceeds $43 million. Over 5,500 visitors have inspected the variety of town homes and single-family homes offered by the eight builders represented at the Russett community.

Runners deliver roses

Rose Runners, a new floral delivery service in Crofton which specializes in fresh, affordable roses, has delivered more than 950 roses to area companies in its first two weeks of business.
