Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Western District -- When Curtis Bailey, 37, of the 1400 block of W. Baltimore St., answered a knock at his door shortly before 8 o'clock last night, a man shot him in the arm. Mr. Bailey was taken to an area hospital for treatment and was listed today in good condition. Police said they had no motive for the shooting.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 600 block of N. Calhoun St. reported that someone broke into her home through a first-floor window over the weekend and stole a 19-inch TV and a microwave oven, together valued at $600.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1900 block of W. Lafayette Ave. told police that a man he knows entered his house Sunday and stole his 21-inch TV valued at more than $300.

BREAK-IN: Western District -- Employees of a realty firm in the 200 block of N. Greene St. reported that someone broke into a dwelling the firm owns in the 2200 block of W. North Ave. and stole more than $1,000 worth of copper tubing. Police said two men were seen leaving the dwelling yesterday.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Stereo equipment valued at nearly $1,300 was stolen yesterday from a dwelling in the 800 block of N. Fulton Ave. after someone forced open the front door.

CUTTING: Western District -- Lawrence Evans, of the 1700 block of Division St., was stabbed in the abdomen with a knife when several men attacked him Sunday in the 1700 block of N. Fremont Ave. The victim is being treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Police said they had no motive for the attack.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Three men, one armed with a semiautomatic handgun, entered the 7-Eleven store in the 700 block of E. 25th St. early yesterday and ordered a clerk to give them the contents of the cash register. The robbers fled with more than $50.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of E. 36th St. reported that someone broke into his garage over the weekend by removing a door panel and stole a 21-inch lawnmower valued at $400.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- An employee of Recycling World in the 6700 block of Pulaski Highway reported he was robbed of about $100 about 9 a.m. yesterday at work by a man and his female companion. The victim told police that the couple approached him and the man pulled out a handgun and ordered him to give up his money.

ASSAULT/ARRESTS: Northeastern District -- Police yesterday arrested two brothers and were holding them at the Eastern District lockup pending charges after one of them allegedly pointed a shotgun at a woman and threatened to shoot her. The incident occurred about 5 a.m. yesterday near the victim's home in the 3200 block of Lawnview Ave.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of Johnny's Used Cars in the 4800 block of Harford Road reported that someone broke into a car parked on the lot over the weekend and stole a stereo radio valued at nearly $700.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 400 block of Essexwood Court in eastern Baltimore County reported he was in the 4000 block of Eierman Ave. over the weekend when a male acquaintance approached him and pointed a handgun at him. The victim was not injured and the gunman fled.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone entered a dwelling in the 4200 block of Loch Raven Blvd. over the weekend, probably with a key, and stole several pieces of jewelry, stereo equipment, cash and a TV, all valued at nearly $2,000.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 4600 block of Glen Arm Ave. reported someone broke into his outdoor storage shed over the weekend and stole a mulching lawnmower, weed eater and a gas-operated tiller, all valued at more than $800.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said someone broke into an apartment in the 5000 block of Goodnow Road and stole a VCR, movie tapes and a radio, all valued at nearly $800.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 7-year-old resident of the 5100 block of Wright Ave. reported he was in the 1200 block of Armistead Way over the weekend when he was assaulted by an older youth who struck him with a length of wood and stole his bike valued at nearly $160. Police said the victim was not seriously injured.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a man and were holding him at the Eastern station pending charges that he cut a woman on the hand with a knife at her home in the 5200 block of Eastbury Ave. over the weekend.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a commercial building in the 2500 block of Loyola Southway over the weekend and stole an assortment of tools and lengths of copper tubing, all valued at more than $600.

THEFT: Northern District -- An 85-year-old resident of the 3500 block of Greenmount Ave. told police she was walking home around 9 a.m. yesterday when a man came up to her, greeted her, then grabbed the brown paper bag she was carrying and fled. The bag contained nearly $400.
