Towson women win, gain final

EASTON, Pa. -- Fourth-seeded Towson State upset host Lafayette, 9-8, in the semifinals of the ECAC women's tournament and will play Cornell in today's championship game at 1 p.m.

The Tigers (10-5) got three goals from Karen Walsh and two from Kim Wilson (Seton Keough) and Laura Kirk. Towson State, which never trailed, took a 3-1 lead and had a 6-3 lead at halftime.

Tenth-ranked Lafayette, the tournament's top seed, got five goals from senior co-captain Suzi Farrell. Cornell beat New Hampshire, 7-4, in the other semifinal.
