Hartman finishes training

Marine Pfc. Jerry Hartman, son of Sandra and Jerry Hartman Sr. of Havre de Grace, recently completed recruit training and was promoted to his present rank.

During the training cycle at Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, Parris Island, S.C., recruits are taught the basics of battlefield survival, and introduced to typical military daily routine and personal and professional standards.

He is a 1991 graduate of Havre de Grace High School.

Digiardo finishes course

Navy Ensign Joseph A. Digiardo, son of Anne and Joseph Digiardo of Fallston, recently completed the Basic Surface Warfare Officer's Course.

During the course at Surface Warfare Officer School in San Diego, students are taught shipboard watch and division officer duties.

The 1986 graduate of Fallston High School and 1991 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis joined the Navy in June 1986.

Gray back from Norway

Navy Seaman Recruit Christian P. Gray, son of Robert C. Gray of Edgewood, recently returned aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau, home-ported in Norfolk, Va., from the NATO multinational exercise Teamwork 92.

Teamwork 92, was designed to improve the professionalism and effectiveness of NATO forces while operating in the realistic environment of the North Atlantic and coastal waters of Norway.

This operation included maritime, air, amphibious and field training exercises.

In all, more than 45,000 troops, 170 ships, and 300 aircrafts from 11 nations participated in the exercise.

The 1991 graduate of Joppatowne High School joined the Navy in August 1991.

Anderson reports for duty

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Renee D. Anderson, a program assistant with the Air National Guard Readiness Center, has arrived for duty at Andrews Air Force Base.

She is the daughter of Robert Anderson of Joppa and Sylvia Anderson of White Marsh.

The sergeant is a 1984 graduate of Harford Technical High School and 1988 graduate of Morgan State University.

Partoza promoted

Leslie J. Partoza has been promoted in the U.S. Air Force to rank of senior airman.

The airman is a Morse systems operator.

Partoza is the daughter of Christine Robinson of Edgewood, and Donald E. Fouchs of Baltimore.

She is a 1988 graduate of Edgewood High School.

Michaud to Germany

Air Force Airman Paul C. Michaud has arrived for duty at Bitburg Air Base, Bitburg, Germany.

Michaud, an apprentice aircraft armament systems specialist, is the son of John and Linda Michaud of Edgewood.

Coleman finishes course

Pvt. Louis E. Coleman has completed basic military police training at Fort McClellan, Anniston, Ala.

Students were trained to provide support to the battlefield by conducting battlefield circulation control, area security, prisoner of war operations, civilian internee operations, and law and order operations.

Also included in the course were peacetime support to the military community through security of resources, crime prevention programs, and preservation of law and order.

Coleman is the brother of Staff Sgt. Bennie M. Coleman of Edgewood.

Adams finishes training

Pvt. Jeffrey K. Adams has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.

During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions.

The soldier is the son of Dorothy and Bobby Adams of Edgewood.

He is a 1984 graduate of Edgewood High School.

Hart completes course

Spec. Andre C.R. Hart has completed a U.S. Army primary leadership course.

Students received training in supervisory skills, leadership principles, and small-unit training techniques essential to a first-line supervisor in a technical or administrative environment.

He is a missile systems mechanic stationed at Darby Kaserne, Fuerth, Germany.

Hart is the son of Gerson and Linda Anthony of Edgewood.

L The specialist is a 1988 graduate of Joppatowne High School.

Burmeister finishes study

Army National Guard Pvt. Mark R. Burmeister has completed basic military police training at Fort McClellan, Anniston, Ala.
