Dundalk's Burnett pitches no-hitter

May 02, 1992|By From Staff Reports

Jeff Burnett pitched a no-hitter yesterday to help Dundalk defeat Catonsville, 7-0.

Burnett, a senior left-hander, struck out nine, yielded three walks and raised his record to 4-1.

"He's a lefty and he was getting that backdoor curve," Dundalk coach George Scheulen said. "He had them off stride all day long. We had a couple of nice defensive plays but nothing spectacular, just solid defense the whole game."

Elsewhere, Arundel senior Brian Rolocut shut out North County, 1-0.
