Annapolis event set to debut Aug. 9

Sydnee Event Productions will hold the inaugural Annapolis Triathlon on Aug. 9 at 7:30 a.m.

The Sunday event will consist of a 1.5-kilometer swim in College Creek and the Severn River, a 40K bike ride through Anne Arundel County that includes a leg through Sandy Point State Park, and a 10K run through the Naval Academy with a finish at St. John's College in Annapolis.

Brad Jaeger, director of the Tri-Maryland Triathlon Club, will direct the triathlon. Registration is $50 for individuals and $110 for three-person relays. After July 25, the costs are $60 and $135. For information, call Jaeger at (410) 882-6103.
