Bleachers big hit, so Orioles offer advance sales

May 01, 1992

The Orioles just made it easier to buy a bleacher seat.

After attempting to limit when tickets to the trendy outfield sections could be purchased, team officials relented yesterday and announced that bleacher tickets to all remaining home games will go on sale today.

When the season opened, the Orioles hoped to sell the 1,700 bleachers seats only on game days. As demand soared, the team amended that and began selling the $4 bleacher seats for future games at Oriole Park that were sold out.

Despite the announcement, there is one remaining restriction on bleacher seats. The Orioles still aren't selling them as season tickets.

The Orioles also announced that they would sell standing-room tickets for games that are virtual sellouts, starting 90 minutes before game time. Standing-room tickets, which are $3, are located behind the visitors' bullpen in left-center field and along the fence between the scoreboards on the Eutaw Street pedestrian walkway.
