ASSAULT: Northern District -- Police today were searching for a 15-year-old girl who allegedly attacked a 16-year-old girl last night and hit her in the head with a piece of wood. Sherry Dalton, of the 1400 block of Union Ave., was walking with some friends about 9:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Buena Vista Ave. when she was attacked by the younger girl. Sherry was in stable condition today at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police said the attack stemmed from an continuing dispute between the two girls.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 600 block of Homestead St. reported he was robbed of $390 by several men who attacked him inside his home around midnight yesterday. The victim told police he was with the five other men and a woman when one of the men pulled out a semiautomatic handgun and struck him with it.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A garage in the 100 block of Woodlawn Ave. was broken into over the weekend and a chair and lawnmower stolen. The total loss was estimated at $600.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Holbrook St. reported that someone broke into his parked car in the 600 block of E. 29th St. yesterday and stole several pieces of clothing valued at nearly $450.

THEFT: Northern District -- Police said property valued at more than $1,800 was reported stolen over the weekend from a storage shed behind a house in the 3100 block of St. Paul St. The victim told police the thief stole a bike, electric fan, several pieces of clothing and books.

SHOOTING: Northern District -- Police said a 15-year-old boy was shot in the left arm about 9 p.m. yesterday while he and several other people sat on the front porch of a home in the 700 block of Glenwood Ave. The victim, Gilbert McCoy, of the 1300 block of Pentridge Road, was hit in the left forearm when a passenger in a gray Nissan driving past fired several shots from a semiautomatic handgun. Police said he was treated at Union Memorial Hospital and released. Police said they had no motive for the shooting and were not certain if the McCoy youth was the gunman's intended target.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1800 block of Maulsby Court in Hollander Ridge reported that someone broke into her home through a rear basement door over the weekend and stole property valued at more than $500.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said a multispeed bike valued at more than $300 was stolen over the weekend after someone cut a lock on a garage behind a house in the 1600 block of Ralworth Road.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2600 block of Kentucky Ave. reported that someone entered the back yard of her home over the weekend and stole her dog, valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police said a VCR, several pieces of jewelry and cash were stolen from a dwelling in the 3600 block of Kenyon Ave. after someone gained entry through a front basement window yesterday afternoon. Police said the property was valued at more than $15,000.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police said a .38-caliber revolver was stolen over the weekend from a bedroom nightstand at a residence in the 3200 block of Kentucky Ave. Police said the handgun was valued at more than $300.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2300 block of Pentland Drive reported that someone broke into his car near his home between Thursday and yesterday and stole a .25-caliber Colt semiautomatic handgun from the glove compartment.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A pizza shop employee reported he was making a delivery in the 5500 block of Lodestone Way around 1 a.m. yesterday when he was accosted by two men in their 20s who robbed him of $71. The victim returned to Vizzini's pizza in the 5900 block of Sinclair Lane and called police.

BREAK-IN: Southern District -- Police reported that someone broke into the offices of a financial company in the 900 block of Washington Blvd. early yesterday and stole property valued at nearly $4,000. Police said an intruder forced the front door to Primerica Financial and stole a computer and a computer keyboard.

ASSAULT: Southern District -- A resident of the 900 block of Joplea Ave. reported that two men, one with a handgun, accosted him in the 900 block of Cherry Hill Road shortly before 3 a.m. yesterday and threatened to shoot him. Police said the victim turned and fled and was not injured. The victim told police he knew one of the men and was expected to seek a warrant for his arrest.

BREAK-IN: Southern District -- Employees of Payless Insurance in the 900 block of Washington Blvd. reported that someone broke into the building around 6:30 p.m. yesterday and stole a handgun and several tools. Police found burglary tools outside the building.
