Sally Fisher Wilkes of Ruxton was honored recently at GBMC for her outstanding volunteer service to the hospital and the community. She was also presented with a certificate from the White House, commending her service.

Shirley Jean Simmons, a student at Villa Julie College, is one of 100 students from 25 countries selected to attend the "Student Pugwash USA's 7th Biennial International Conference" at Emory University in Atlanta in June.

Celeste Bunting, a first-grade teacher at the Worcester Country School, is the 1992 recipient of the distinguished Catalyst Award for excellence in science teaching.

Carol Sibel has been chosen as the 1992 Outstanding Volunteer Fund-Raiser by the National Society of Fund-Raising Executives, Maryland Chapter.

Winners of the 11th annual Maryland History Essay Contest, conducted by the Maryland Colonial Society for high school students throughout the state, are Howard Blank of Atholton High School in Columbia, first place; Lata Prabhakar of Perry Hall High School in Baltimore, second place; and Anupa Laheri of Leonardtown High School in Leonardtown, third place.

Nazanin Moghbeli, a senior at St. Paul's School for Girls, has been chosen to receive a Goucher Merit Award from Goucher College for 1992.

Brenda D. Pawloski, a senior at the Catholic High School of Baltimore, has been awarded a Notre Dame Scholarship by the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
