Baltimore City

RAPE: Central District -- At about 10 p.m. Tuesday, a woman walking in the 800 block of Linden Ave. was abducted by a man driving a dark-colored car who took her to a wooded area and raped her in the vehicle. After the attack, the victim was dropped off in the 900 block of Brooks Lane. She later sought treatment at Maryland General Hospital.

ARMED ROBBERY: Central District -- At about 10 p.m. yesterday, a gunman in a red jacket stopped a woman in the 200 block of W. Lanvale St. and demanded her money. She gave him an undisclosed sum and he also took her purse.

MURDER ATTEMPT: Central District -- A woman stabbed a main the chest with a knife during an argument about 9 p.m. in the 700 block of W. Lexington St. He was treated at University of Maryland Medical Center. Police had no motive and said no arrest had been made.

AUTO THEFT: Northern District -- Someone stole a 1990 Ford between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. yesterday while it was parked in the first block of W. 28th St. The Maryland plates are XMY-403.

ROBBERY ATTEMPT: Northern District -- Two men, one with a handgun, tried to rob a woman who was waiting at a bus stop in the 6300 block of York Road at 10:25 p.m. yesterday. The would-be robbers took her purse, which contained $201, but she grabbed it back from them and they ran.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Between 5:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, someone entered a home in the 900 block of Dartmouth Road by kicking down a front door. Once inside, the intruder took a fax machine valued at $2,000.

ARMED ROBBERY: Northern District -- About 10:22 a.m. yesterday, a man, acting as if he had a gun, entered the Liberty Federal Savings and Loan in the 5600 block of The Alameda and demaded money. He fled after getting an undisclosed amount.

ARMED ROBBERY: Northern District -- At about 9:45 p.myesterday, someone entered Video America in the 400 block of W. Cold Spring Lane and pointed a pellet gun at the owner, demanding money. When the owner refused, the gunman hit the owner in the head and took an undisclosed sum.

AUTO THEFT: Northern District -- Between 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. yesterday, someone stole a 1984 Pontiac from the 2500 block of W. Belvedere Ave. The Maryland plates are NZG-757.

AUTO THEFT: Northern District -- Between 11 p.m. Tuesday and a.m. yesterday, someone stole a 1991 Buick from the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle North. The Maryland plates are YND-154.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- Between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 11:30 a.m. yesterday, someone broke the right front window of a 1992 Volkswagen and stole a Cobra radar detector worth about $250.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 7:45 a.m. yesterday, someone entered the Crestlyn Food Market in the 3800 block of Crestlyn Road and stole $14,144 in cash, cigarettes and food stamps.

LARCENYLARCENY: Northeastern District -- Between 6:50 a.m. and 5 p.m. yesterday, someone broke a window of a 1975 Dodge truck in the 600 block of E. 25th St. and stole $1,840 worth of tools.

RAPE ATTEMPT: Northeastern District -- A man, wearing a raincoat and carrying an umbrella, grabbed a woman in the 5100 block of Loch Raven Blvd. about 1:40 a.m. yesterday and told her to be quiet or he would kill her. He took her to a wooded area, but she managed to escape. The would-be rapist gave chase but gave up when his victim encountered a pedestrian.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone threw a brick through a front window of a home in the 1300 block of Walther Ave. between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. yesterday. Once inside, the intruder stole jewelry and money worth a total of $560.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- About 10:45 a.m. yesterday, a man spotted three men in the 3100 block of Rosalie Ave. in his truck removing 600 pounds of copper stripped wiring worth $540.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- Someone stole two white wicker chairs from a porch in the 2700 block of Bayonne Ave. between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 7 p.m. yesterday. The chairs were valued at $290.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Two men approached a man in the 5000 block of Sinclair Lane and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed sum and a revolver. The robbers fled.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- Between 2:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. Tuesday, someone broke a window of a 1988 Dodge Omni and stole a $155 radar detector. The Dodge was parked in the 6100 block of Frankford Ave.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Between 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. yesterday the Guest House deli in the 3000 block of Liberty Heights Ave. was burglarized when someone broke a front window and stole $250 worth of cigarettes.

ARMED ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- At about 2:15 p.m. yesterday, a man in the 5400 block of Park Heights Ave. was robbed at gunpoint by two men who demanded his gold chains. The victim threw the jewelry at them and then ran away.
