Grand Duke Vladimir Kirillovich Romanov, 74, who as a direct descendant of Czar Alexander II claimed to be the successor to the Russian throne, collapsed during a briefing for Spanish language news media in Miami yesterday and died at a hospital. The resident of Paris was in Florida to discuss with civic and business leaders the prospects for a constitutional monarchy in post-Communist Russia. He was a great-grandson of Britain's Queen Victoria. His father was Kirill Vladimirovich Romanov, cousin of the last czar, Nicholas II, who was forced to abdicate in 1917.
