Man Posing As Cop Abducts Woman

A woman was abducted and assaulted Saturday morning by a man who claimed to be a Prince George's County police officer, county police said.

Christy Ann Ennis, 23, who lives in Cedarville in Prince George's County, told police she pulled her car off Route 214 in South County about 2 a.m.

The woman said she was approached by a man saying he was a policeofficer. He told her she had been swerving between the lanes and that he thought she was driving while intoxicated, police said.

The victim agreed to cooperate, police. The man got into her car and droveto a private driveway off Pindell Road, near Birdsville. She said a maroon-colored Jeep Cherokee followed her 1988 Ford.

Once parked in the driveway, the woman told police, the man ordered her into the back seat, where he grabbed her. She got out of the car, ran to a nearby home and called police. She said both men drove off in the Jeep.


A man walking up his driveway Saturday morning was held up by a man carrying a gun who stole his car.

Police say Jesse Linwood Jones, 34, of the 1900 block of Arwell Court in Severn, had parked in front of his home about 3 a.m. and was near his front door when two men -- one armed -- came up and demanded his money and car keys.

The man told police the suspects took his car. Police did not give a description of the car or the suspects.
