'FernGully' tie-in is environmentally correct

HOLLYWOOD -- Alliances between movie studios and fast-food chains are common these days. But what do you do when your movie has an environmental theme? For the animated feature "FernGully . . . the Last Rainforest," 20th Century Fox is giving away trees.

Actually, they're tree seeds and it's part of the studio's tie-in with Pizza Hut, which is giving away a drinking glass that turns into a terrarium.

Says Fox vice president of licensing and merchandising, Al Ovadia. "We wanted to do something that was consistent with the feeling of the film and environmentally safe."
