With today being the last day before Easter, it's egg-decorating time for many families. Whether you dye the eggs or decorate them with stickers, ribbons and markers, every creation will add a festive touch to your Easter table.
To save your "masterpieces" from year to year, you may want to try decorating "blown eggs." Blown eggs are more fragile than hard-boiled ones, but when Easter is over you can pack them away in an empty egg carton and enjoy them for years to come.
Here's how to blow out the contents of a raw egg: First, wash and dry the egg. Then, an adult should poke a small hole at each end of the egg with a darning needle. Twist the needle inside the egg until the yolk breaks. Blow through the hole at the pointed end of the egg until all of the contents of the egg flow out of the opposite hole. Enlarge the hole if necessary. (Collect the contents of the egg in a dish for later use.) Thoroughly wash out the eggshell, let it air-dry and it will be ready to decorate.
