Baltimore City

THEFT: Northern District -- A Pikesville resident reported that while his 1986 Volkswagen was parked in the 5600 block of Smith Ave. between Wednesday night and yesterday morning, someone broke into the vehicle and stole stereo radio equipment. Police said the property was valued at $400. In another theft from an automobile that police said appeared to be related, someone broke into a 1974 Volkswagen while it was parked in the 5700 block of Smith Ave. during the same period and stole a compact disc player and other items, all valued at more than $800.

THEFT: Northern District -- Police reported that someone broke into a garage in the first block of Elmhurst Road yesterday and stole a John Deere lawn mower. Police said the mower was valued at $500 and that entry was gained by opening an unlocked door.

THEFT: Northern District -- An resident of the 800 block of Reverdy Ave. reported that someone broke into his Ford van while it was parked near his home yesterday and stole food products. Police said the property was valued at nearly $150.

THEFT: Northern District -- A patient at Union Memorial Hospital in the 200 block of E. University Parkway someone entered his room yesterday and stole his diamond watch, valued at $300.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of Edwardsville, Va., reported that someone broke into her 1990 Nissan yesterday while the vehicle was parked in the 100 block of W. Lake Ave. and stole a 35mm Canon camera, valued at more than $200.

THEFT: Northern District -- An official of Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. reported that someone entered a room and stole a VCR, valued at nearly $250. The theft occurred between Monday and Tuesday.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police said property valued at more than $1,000 was stolen from a dwelling in the 600 block of Tunbridge Road after someone gained entry through a rear window. Police said the intruder escaped with a VCR, a cassette player and other pieces of property.

ASSAULT: Northern District -- Police were seeking a man who struck a woman with a length of steel pipe during an argument in the 2700 block of Huntingdon Ave. late yesterday evening. Police said the woman, a resident of the 2700 block of Huntingdon Ave., was struck several times on the arm and in the face and sustained cuts and bruises. Police said the woman was treated at a hospital and released.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5200 block of Eastbury Drive reported that someone broke into her home Tuesday through a side bedroom window and stole property valued at nearly $400.

ROBBERY/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police arrested a 26-year-old man and charged him with robbing a woman of $20 at knifepoint in the 5000 block of Raintree Way. Police said the victim was in the 5000 block of Raintree Way early Wednesday when she was accosted by a man armed with a knife who knocked her to the ground and took a $20 bill from her hand. Officer William Furlong reported that while he and Officer Edward Vogt were investigating the robbery, they saw a man who fit the description of the robber and arrested him. Charged with armed robbery and using a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony was Kevin Wade, of the 5000 block of Raintree Way.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police reported that someone entered a tow truck while it was parked in the 5400 block of Radecke Ave. Tuesday and stole a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun from under the seat. Police said the weapon was valued at $400 and was the property of a resident of the 6800 block of Loch Raven Blvd. Police said a man believed to have taken the gun is being sought.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A man armed with an unknown caliber handgun robbed a food store on Bowleys Lane Wednesday of an undisclosed sum. Police said a man entered the C&B Market in the 4800 block of Bowleys Lane Wednesday evening and placed some food on the counter. When the clerk rang up the sale, the man pulled out a handgun and ordered the employee to give him the contents of the cash register. The clerk complied.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Opinkett Court in the Hollander Ridge development reported that someone broke into her home and stole more than $200 worth of clothing. Police said the break-in occurred Wednesday and that entry was gained through a rear window.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police today were seeking a couple who forced their way into the apartment of a resident of the 2000 block of Odell Ave. and robbed him of a small sum. The victim told police he was home Tuesday afternoon when he answered a knock at his door and opened it. He was immediately assaulted by a couple who robbed him of his wallet containing less than $10. Police said the victim was not injured.
