Bridge Work

April 14, 1992

The State Highway Administration will begin test pile driving today as part of the construction for the new Severn River Bridge.

Threepiles will be driven for about 30 minutes. Over the next two weeks, four support piles will be driven for a test platform. This pilot program will allow SHA engineers to determine how to place additional piles. The work will take place during daylight hours.

The program will begin on a regular basis at the end of this month, and be completed by July 1993.
