April 14, 1992

Russell S. Maykrantz Sr., a retired Social Security Administration supervisor and former parts manager for two Baltimore Buick dealers, died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital after a heart attack. He was 82.

Services for Mr. Maykrantz, who had lived in Towson for the past eight years, were being held today at Loring Byers Funeral Directors Inc., 8728 Liberty Road in Randallstown.

A resident of Woodlawn for many years, he retired in 1973 after about 12 years at the Social Security headquarters there.

He worked for the Glenn L. Martin Co., now the Martin Marietta DTC Corp., during World War II. Later, he was the parts department manager for Kelly Buick and Rea Keech Buick.

The Baltimore native was educated in public schools.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Alice Goldsmith; one son, Russell S. Maykrantz Jr. of Hebron; one daughter, Patricia A. Long of Woodlawn; one sister, Ida Balladarsch of Baltimore; and four grandchildren.

The family suggested memorial contributions to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rockdale.
