Dunbar High standouts Cyrus Jones and Keith Booth, who helped the Poets capture the nation's No. 1 ranking this past season, stepped to the forefront again last night as the East swept the West in the third annual East vs. West All-Star Classic.

Booth, proved why he will be one of the nation's top recruits next season, scoring 20 points to lead the East Underclassmen over the West, 110-97.

Jones, the unsung hero on this year's Dunbar team, scored 19 to pace the East Seniors to a 69-61 win over the West.

Booth, a 6-foot-7 forward, sparked the East to a 20-8 lead in the first five minutes of the game with seven points, and the East cruised the rest of the way. They led 72-45 at the half.

Southern's Kevin Simpson added 16, Lake Clifton's Shawnta Rogers had 13 and Southern's Damon Cason and Dunbar's Alexander Mobley each had 11 to join Booth in double figures for the winners.

Walbrook's Eric Carroll paced the West with 21. Andre Crockett of Northwestern and Richard Dent of Gibbons each added 12, and Edmondson's Eddie Rivers had 10.

The senior game was closer with the East taking a 42-35 halftime lead with Jones scoring 11. But the West rallied to get within three twice in the second half.

In addition to Jones, Lake Clifton's Anthony Lang was also in double figures for the East with 10 points.
