Amelia J. Heath

Amelia Josephine Heath, a former elementary school teacher, died March 25 of cancer at the Meridian Nursing Center-Severna Park.

She was 82 and maintained a home in Kailua, Hawaii. She had lived in Annapolis for the past 10 years.

A memorial service for Mrs. Heath was held Sunday at the Taylor Funeral Chapel in Annapolis.

The former Amelia Josephine Celustka was a native of Annapolis and a graduate of what is now Towson State University. She taught at elementary schools in Churchton and Arnold before her marriage in 1937.

Her husband, retired Navy Capt. John Andrew Heath, died in 1976.

She is survived by two sons, James Michael Heath of Perth, Australia, and David Heath of Benicia, Calif.; a sister, Helen Petronilla Celustka of Annapolis; two brothers, Frank Henry Celustka of Boise, Idaho, and retired Navy Capt. Robert Joseph Celustka of Coronado, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
