Hosanna Day Brings Easter Spirit To Ferndale United

Ferndale United Methodist Church is sponsoring Hosanna Day on Sunday. Activities include Sunday school and adult Bible study at 9:15 a.m.and a worship service at 10:30 a.m.

After the service, worshiperswill eat lunch and enjoy several activities. An Easter egg hunt willbe held for the children.

* Tomorrow, the United Methodist Women will prepare and serve theLenten luncheon at Holy Trinity Church at noon. The cost is $2.

Pastor Susan Ducheaneau will be the speaker. UMW President Fay Deli requests that you call her at 766-9220 if you can help with the luncheon.

The UMW meets each second Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. All women are invited.

* Bob Sponsler, lay leader, says church membersjust completed a "reach-out" project where they delivered fliers in the neighborhood outlining church activities and a schedule of Lentenevents.

The North County High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association is sponsoring its annual spring flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Call Vickie, 761-3935, for information.

Spring kindergarten parent-teacher conferences are scheduled at Overlook Elementary School April 23-27. There will be no kindergarten sessions on those three days.

Irish step dancing classes are being held on Mondays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Philip Neri Church hall. The classes, for ages 6 and up, will run for eight weeks.

Linthicum Elementary School news: Congratulations to Franklin Bucheit, Matt Haman and Chris Penny for earning the highest scores in their respective classes in the fifth-grade Constitutionand citizenship test.

* Mark your calendars for the annual SpringCraft Show and Flower Mart. This event will take place at the schoolon May 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Many volunteers are needed. Spaces are still available for $15 ($20 with table).

* Linthicum grandparents are invited for a grandparent visit April 16, morning only. Visits for kindergarten will be morning and afternoon.

Spring session for dance fitness classes for adults and teens begins this week.

The classes, sponsored by the county Department of Recreation and Parks, are at Belle Grove Elementary School and Linthicum Elementary School.

There is still time this week to help George Cromwell Elementary School win educational aidsby participating in "Driving for Education."

Family and friends of students are invited to come to JBA Chevrolet on Ritchie Highway for a test drive. Dave Boggs, service director, says no one will be pressured to buy; you will only be requested to complete a proof-of-driving certificate.

At the week's end, the test drives will be tallied, and prizes will be awarded to the school. Drivers ages 18 to 20 must be accompanied by their parents.

Participants must provide a valid driver's license, and only one drive to a family is allowed.
