1st phase of renovations completed at Glen Meadows

The Glen Meadows Retirement Community in northeastern Baltimore County has completed the first phase of a comprehensive revitalization program, the renovation of 114 "patio homes," and officials there will have an open house April 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Formerly known as Notchcliff, the community at 11630 Glen Arm Road is now operated by Presbyterian Senior Services Inc., which has launched cosmetic improvements to 101 apartments as well as renovation of the patio homes. Presbyterian Senior Services is a joint venture of the Presbytery of Baltimore and Presbyterian Homes Inc., which operates 18 retirement

communities.

Trafalgar House

Trafalgar House Residential of Maryland has opened furnished model homes at Foxhall Farm, under construction off Rolling Road near Catonsville, and Russett, a town house community under construction in western Anne Arundel County.

Trafalgar has sold 30 luxury single-family homes at Foxhall Farm since sales began last fall and plans to build a total of 114. Prices start at $229,900 for the houses, which have three or four bedrooms.

The company has sold 23 of the 101 town houses it plans to build at Russett, with prices starting at $145,990. The three-level houses also have three or four bedrooms.

Washington Village

The Maryland Housing Research Corp., a non-profit housing developer, will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 8 at 4 p.m. for the Carroll Street Homes, an 11-unit affordable-housing project in the 1700 block of Carroll Street, part of Baltimore's Washington Village neighborhood.

The two-bedroom residences are selling for $60,000 to $63,000, with monthly payments as low as $427. Eight have been sold. The state of Maryland is offering mortgage loans at 5 percent interest to families earning less than $25,900 per year and at 7.25 percent to families earning under $28,200 per year. No down payment is required with these loans. Other financing is available through the state and several area banks for families and individuals earning more than $28,200 per year. Design discussions

Atlanta architect Anthony Ames will be the next speaker in the spring lecture series sponsored by the Baltimore chapter of the American Institute of Architects. His talk will be on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Meyerhoff Auditorium of the Baltimore Museum of Art. Tickets are available at the door and cost $12 for the general public, $8 for students, and $10 for museum and AIA members. More information is available from the AIA at 625-2585.

Neil Payton, an architect and professor of architecture at Catholic University in Washington, will discuss "Traditional Neighborhood Development" during a meeting of the Carroll County chapter of the Home Builders Association of Maryland, April 16 at 6 p.m. at the Westminster Inn, 5 South Center Street in Westminster. The cost is $24 per person and reservations can be made through Beth Holt at 265-7400.

Home Owners Warranty

John Kozelski of Village Builders has been named president of the board of the Home Owners Warranty Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland. He has been a member of the council's board for three years and also has been a director of the parent association.

Other new officers of the Home Owners Warranty Council are: Bob Ward of Bob Ward Inc., vice president; Jim Piet of Masonry Contractors, secretary; and Bob Connelly of Atlantic Home Mortgage, treasurer.

The council provides homebuyers with a limited warranty on new homes built by participating builders.

* The Washington office of Insignia Mortgage and Investment Co. of Atlanta has arranged a $6.2 million loan for the 256-unit Deerfield Run Apartments in Laurel. Deerfield Run Limited Partnership, a Maryland group with Kay Investments Inc. as its general partner, was the borrower. The Prudential Insurance Co. of America was the lender.
