Anthony T. York

Anthony T. York, who had been band director and a music teacher at Fallston High School since 1988, died of cancer Monday at his home on Whiteworth Road in Jacksonville. He was 29.

Services for Mr. York were being held today at Woolford Memorial Baptist Church, 1710 Delvale Ave., Dundalk.

The native of Monterey, Tenn., attended Campbell University in North Carolina before moving to the Baltimore area and completing his education at Towson State University, where he graduated with a degree in music education in 1988.

At Woolford Memorial Baptist Church, Mr. York was a deacon, taught a Bible study class, sang in the choir and played the horn at special services.

He is survived by his wife, the former Victoria Heggie; a daughter, Heather, and a son, Michael, both of Jacksonville; his mother, Janice York of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Durward York of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Dawn Rodrigeuz of Midway City, Okla., and Christina York of Virginia Beach; and his grandmothers, Iva York of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Elease Carter of Crossville, Tenn.
