Advocates push opener envelope

April 01, 1992

The Oriole Advocates will be helping collectors share in the opening of Oriole Park at Camden Yards -- even if they don't have tickets.

The advocates will be selling envelopes depicting the new stadium and carrying a special Opening Day cancellation and the new Olympic baseball stamp. All proceeds go to the Oriole Advocates Charitable Foundation.

The envelopes feature a color drawing of the stadium by Baltimore artist Martin J. Barry and come in four formats:

* A small envelope ($3).

* A business-size envelope ($5).

* A business-size envelope with drawing framed in silver foil ($10).

* The foil-framed drawing with an additional cancellation from the Olympic stamp's first-day ceremonies set Saturday in Atlanta ($20).

There is a $2 handling fee per order.

The foil-framed envelopes will be limited to 2,000, half with one cancellation and half with two.

All orders should be sent to: Oriole Advocates Charitable Foundation, P.O. Box 2295, Baltimore, Md. 21203-2295.
