April 01, 1992

Two out-of-state men were arrested by U.S. marshals and city and Baltimore County police last night and charged with the November 1991 fatal shooting of a Cherry Hill man.

Damian Hill, 23, of New York City, and Curtis Young, 23, of Kearney, N.J., were taken into custody about 7:30 p.m. at the Howard Johnson Motel, U.S. 40 West and Ingleside Avenue, said Lt. Stewart Oliver of the city homicide unit.

Police said the men are charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Leon Baker, 30, of the 2800 block of Bookert Drive.

Mr. Baker, shot twice in the abdomen, died at the Maryland Shock-Trauma Center.

No motive is known for the slaying, police said.
