John E. Hudson

John E. Hudson, a retired plumbing parts department manager and a volunteer Boy Scout leader, died Wednesday of lung cancer at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 75.

Services for Mr. Hudson will be held at 9.30 a.m. tomorrow at the Eline Funeral Home in Hampstead.

A Towson-area native who had lived for years in Woodlawn, Mr. Hudson moved to Hampstead four years ago.

He retired 10 years ago as the plumbing department manager at the Montgomery Ward & Co. store in Catonsville. Earlier, he worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. and at one time had his own heating and air-conditioning business.

For 25 years, Mr. Hudson was a volunteer leader in the Boy Scouts' Frontier District of Baltimore.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dolores Hudson; seven children, John E. Hudson Jr. of Baltimore, Joan L. Cochran of Coral Springs, Fla., Robert M. Hudson of Street, Russell M. Hudson of Finksburg, Susan M. Murray of Eldersburg, Richard L. Hudson of Upperco and Marc E. Hudson of Hampstead; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
