What is the best picture?

It's your call

March 27, 1992

The best picture category in the Oscar competition continues the Baltimore connection in the nominations with "Bugsy," directed by Barry Levinson, and "Beauty and the Beast," the full-length Disney cartoon featuring lyrics written by the late Howard Ashman, a graduate of Milford Mill High School who was executive producer of the film. Both are native Baltimoreans. Winners will be revealed in a Monday telecast on ABC-TV.

A few weeks ago, when the nominations were announced, callers selected "Beauty and the Beast" as the favorite. With the hype over and people having had a chance to view more nominated movies, The Evening Sun would like to know which picture you now feel should win: "Beauty and the Beast," "Bugsy," "JFK," "The Prince of Tides," or "The Silence of the Lambs."

To register your opinion, call SUNDIAL at 783-1800 (or 268-7736 in Anne Arundel County) today through midnight. After you hear the greeting, you'll be asked to punch in a four-digit code on your touch-tone phone. Punch 4600 and you'll be connected with "It's Your Call," geregi The Evening Sun's phone survey on topical issues.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.

Look for the results in Monday'sEvening Sun.
