Fred H. Fliegel, a retired Baltimore public school teacher, died March 19 at Good Samaritan Hospital after a blood vessel burst. He was 69 and lived on White Avenue.
Services for Mr. Fliegel were held Monday at the Leonard J. Ruck Funeral Home.
He retired 10 years ago after teaching in city schools more than 30 years.
The native of Hamburg, Germany, moved to Baltimore as a child with his family. He was a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute and of what is now Towson State University. He received a master's degree from the University of Maryland.
He served in the Navy at the end of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Marie E. "Libby" Riefner; a son, William W. Fliegel of Perry Hall; and a granddaughter.
