2 men in stolen car elude police

March 25, 1992

The driver and passenger of a stolen car escaped after their vehicle rammed a Baltimore County Police cruiser in Woodlawn.

Detective C.T. Wright said an officer saw the late-model blue Chevrolet Corsica on Security Boulevard at Ingleside Avenue shortly after 1 a.m., realized it was stolen and began pursuit. Officer James Conaway joined the short chase, he said.

The driver of the Corsica, which had Virginia tags, rammed Officer Conaway's car in the rear and side, then drove off.

Within minutes, Detective Wright said, the car was found abandoned in the 6000 block of Charles St., a dead-end street nearby.

Officers brought in police dogs to search for the men but they were not found, Detective Wright said.

Damage to Officer Conaway's car was minor, Detective Wright said, and none of the police officers was injured.
