Three Doctors Join Staff

Three physicians have joined the Columbia Medical Plan's neonatologyand family practice groups at the Columbia offices.

Dr. Karen Kingry of Columbia will practice neonatology at Howard County General Hospital. She earned her medical degree from the University of MarylandSchool of Medicine and completed her residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington.

Dr. Lisa Smirnow of Columbia is a family practitioner at the Columbia regional center. She received her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Westbury, N.Y., and completed her residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. MariaRuiz of Clarksville will practice neonatology at the Howard County General Hospital. She received her medical degree from the University of the Philippines and completed her residency at the Medical Collegeof Pennsylvania.


Deborah A. Davis of Columbia, director of financial aid for Howard Community College, was elected vice chairman of the Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators for 1992-93.

Davis, an HCC staff member since 1986, will be responsible for chairing the association's annual fall conference and will assist in developing training workshops for financial aid administrators.


Signet Bank has promoted Paula R. Woerner of Marriottsville to vice president in the systems and operations services division, where she manages retail delivery operations in the Maryland region.

Woerner joined the bank in 1967 as a teller. She was promoted to branch manager in 1978 and to assistant vice president in 1983.


The Provincial House of the Sisters of Bon Secours U.S.A., located in Marriottsville, has named Kathryn Davis as lay director of associate community for theprovince.

Davis, who resides in Winfield, has served as administrative as sistant for the associate community for the province since 1980.


John James Wesnstrup, president of Savage-based Cache Finders, Inc., has passed the Maryland appraisal examand is licensed as a residential real estate appraiser.

Along with the expansion into residential real estate appraisal, his company also performs tax consultations.


Doctors Albert Folgueras and Dennis Smith, both of Ellicott City, have joined the St. Agnes Hospital Medical Staff for 1992.

Folgueras will serve as president-elect and Smith will be secretary-treasurer.


Buna B. Cumbie 2nd has been named "Associate of the Year" for 1992 by First Financial Group.

Cumbie, who has worked in Columbia since 1979, also qualified for the seventh time as a member of the "Million Dollar Round Table."
