Man Arrested In Fight, Robbery In Parking Lot

One man has been arrested and another is being sought in connection with a February fight and robbery in a movie theater parking lot.

Police last week arrested Steven L. Adams, of the 10500 block of TwinRivers Road, and charged him with robbing a Columbia man of $180 after an argument at Bennigan's last month. Police have charged Adams with simple assault, theft, robbery with a deadly weapon and a handgun violation.

Police say Adams and the victim were arguing at Bennigan's Feb. 16 when Adams left the restaurant. As the victim left the restaurant near closing time, Adams and five others approached the him and his three friends at their car in the parking lot.

Police say Adams, armed with a gun, and his group assaulted them, taking cash from one victim and a gold chain from another.


Police have charged a 36-year-old Glen Burnie man in the burglary of an Ellicott City house last week.

Police found the man, RobinAdcock, of the 300 block of Margate Drive, sitting at a constructionsite near the home, in the 5000 block of Stone Hill Road. Police also found a wad of cash and a roll of stamps as well as a flashlight and gloves on the seat of his pickup truck.

Police have charged Adcock with vandalism, being a rogue and a vagabond, theft, breaking and entering and burglary with intent to commit a felony.


Fire officials are investigating the cause ofa Tuesday fire that caused $150,000 damage to a single-family Savagehouse.

The 12:53 a.m. blaze was coming from the roof of the two-story brick house at the 7900 block of Guilford Road when firefightersarrived.

No one was injured. There was smoke and water damage to the second floor and smoke damage to the first floor.

9000 block of Queen Maria Court: Two 17-year-old Columbia students were arrested Tuesday after police stopped them and found stolen stereo equipment in their car. A witness earlier had seen them loading the equipment into their car.

5300 Mad River Lane: Someone tried to enter a house Tuesday by breaking a rear window. The suspect fled when an alarm sounded.

5000 Castle Moor Drive: Someone broke a garage window Tuesday and ransacked a house, taking jewelry.

10200 Wincopin Circle: Someone stole a 1989 two-door Chrysler LeBaron Monday.

8400 Kenton Court: Someone broke into a house Monday by smashing the basement window with a brick. The suspect left when the owner camehome. Jewelry and cash were taken. A camcorder was found in the backyard.

7500 Summer Blossom Lane: The owner of a 1986 Camaro heard his car start early Tuesday morning, then saw that the car was gone. The suspect had entered the house through the unlocked front door andstolen the car keys from a dresser.

5400 Lighthouse Court: Someone entered through an unlocked door Monday and stole a radio, a walletand credit cards.

5700 block of Harpers Farm Road: Someone tried to steal a 1984 Toyota Camry March 14.

Ellicott City

Turf Valley Road: Nothing was taken after someone pried a clasp from a storage barn March 15 or 16.
