LEDO PIZZA 11321 York Road, Hunt Valley. Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; noon to 9 p.m. Sundays. (410) 785-5336. When people ask what I recommend at Ledo, I start with two words: Italian chicken sandwich. OK, that's three words; sometimes I get a little nervous. The point is, this is a terrific sub sandwich. We're talking about two grilled chicken breasts covered with a delicious house tomato sauce and melted provolone cheese, grilled onions and green peppers. All for $4.29. At that price, you could buy an extra one for mom. Let's face it: You owe her that much.
Other Ledo subs include Italian cold cut ($3.89), which consists of ham, salami, cappicola and provolone piled about six stories high; steak and cheese ($4.29); and pork barbecue ($4.29).
As you might have guessed, Ledo Pizza also sells a few pizzas. A small, individual pizza is reasonably priced at $3.95. A large, plain pizza sells for $9.95, but Ledo offers a full array of toppings that includes anchovies, jalapenos and, for the particularly adventuresome, pineapple.
Those looking for a lighter meal might want to try the soup, salad and bread stick combination ($3.99), which includes an Italian salad and minestrone soup.
