Get going to the Westminster Riding Club on Colonial Avenue, Friday,before $16,000 worth of donated goods and services is going, going, gone.

Bring your checkbooks, wallets and bids to Action Auction, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement. Gaveling starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes a dessert buffet. You'll find a cash bar, too. Information: 848-9050.

Check the Tourist Information Center's open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at 210 E. Main St., Westminster, for videos on attractions and accommodations and sample refreshments provided by area restaurants.

The spring play seasonis still in full swing. Combine comedy,music and dinner with CarrollPlayers' "The Nerd" and Stone Road Productions' "Oklahoma".

If you are looking for something to occupy the preteens Friday, drop them off at Winfield Fire Hall, Route 26, where Girl Scout Troop417 is sponsoring a 7:30 p.m. Sock Hop. Need spring decorating and gift ideas? Drive down Route 140 to the annual Reese Spring & Easter Bazaar, which features 62 spaces of arts and crafts.

Catch two glimpses of spring fashions Saturday.

The Friends of the Village Auxiliary of Carroll Lutheran Village present "Splendors of Spring" with fashions by Leggett. Admission is $12.50 and reservations are required for the noon show at St. Mark Way, Westminster. Information: 848-4001.

Fashions will be in Carrolltowne Mall in Eldersburg, too, as the Lioness Club presents its spring show at 1 p.m. The $10 tickets include lunch at PJ's Restaurant. Information: 781-7070.

Breakfast anyone?

The Mount Airy Kiwanis will serve a pancake breakfast from 5 a.m. to noon Saturday at Calvary United Methodist Church, Main Street. Cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children. Information: 829-0358.

Come for breakfast and stay in town for dinner and dancing. The American Legion at 801 Prospect Road will have a bull roast and oyster feed at 6:30 p.m. The "Blue Armadillo" band will play for your dancing pleasure from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
