Current volunteers' needs and news:

South East Senior Housing Initiative wants volunteers as guides for its Idea House in Canton, which has been fitted to display many safety and convenience features for the elderly. For hours to visit the house and to volunteer, call Jo Fisher at 327-6193 on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Christopher Place volunteers are needed to assist with case management, counseling, providing food and other help in this overnight shelter for homeless men at 700 E. Eager St. Call (410) 576-0066.

Fellowship of Lights seeks volunteers for its hot line, support for teen-agers being counseled. Call Manami Brown, (410) 385-1200.

Johns Hopkins Hospital, Wilmer Institute, seeks volunteers to work in its patient service and patient information areas. For this and other volunteer opportunities, call Laura Stover, (410) 955-2909.
