Baltimore City

ROBBERY/SHOOTING: Southern District -- Police said Tracy Harper remained hospitalized today after he was shot last night during a robbery. Police said Mr. Harper was in the 700 block of Reedbird Ave. around 8 p.m. when two men, one armed a handgun, robbed him of $50. As the robbers made their escape, the gunman turned and shot Mr. Harper in the leg and lower back. Police said he was taken by ambulance to Harbor Medical Center, where he was treated and admitted.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3600 block of Fernhill Ave. reported that someone broke into his home yesterday by forcing a side door and stole a large jar containing $300 in coins.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Police said a quantity of 10-gauge shotgun ammunition, of unknown value, was stolen from a house in the 3700 block of Overview Road after someone entered with a key.

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police arrested two men and were holding them at the station in the burglary of a house in the 3100 block of Keswick Road. Police said the pair was caught moments after they broke into the house through a rear window and stole a compact disc player and camera equipment.

ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police said two men entered the Erol's video store in the 400 block of E. 33rd St. and stole five blank VCR movie tapes valued at $100. Later, police arrested two men in the theft and were holding them at the station pending charges.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man reported he was in the 600 block of McCabe Ave. when he was attacked from behind by someone who stole his keys. Police said the thief got into the victim's Chevrolet van and drove off. Later, police recovered the van but had not made an arrest.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A woman walking in the 5300 block of York Road around 5 p.m. Tuesday was approached from behind by a man who placed a hard object against her back and robbed her of more than $50 in cash and $100 in food stamps.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man reported he was walking in the 3100 block of Greenmount Ave. Tuesday night when he was attacked by a man who struck him with fists and robbed him of a silver chain valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Employees of the Phase 3 Nightclub in the 400 block of E. 32nd St. reported that someone entered the building early yesterday, apparently with a key, and stole a TV and a VCR of undetermined value.

THEFT: Northern District -- A resident of the 1000 block of Woodson Road reported that while his car was parked near his home yesterday morning, someone broke into the vehicle and stole a radio, compact disc player and stereo speakers, all valued at more than $700.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone apparently used a key to enter a dwelling in the 400 block of E. 28th St. early yesterday and steal a VCR and a TV, valued at $500.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- An out-of-town resident reported that as she entered a house in the 500 block of E. 35th St. around noon yesterday, a man followed her and robbed her of her purse, which contained cash and property valued at nearly $150.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A Morgan State University police officer reported he was riding in a campus patrol vehicle along Argonne Drive near the Northwood Shopping Center early yesterday when he saw a man carrying three aluminum ladders. When the man realized the officer had seen him, he dropped the ladders and fled. An investigation revealed that the ladders were stolen from the nearby Hechinger store, where police found that three other aluminum ladders had been removed from a rear storage area and placed on the ground.

ROBBERY TRY/SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Stanley Holmes reported he was in the first block of S. Pulaski St. around 8 p.m. yesterday when he was stopped by a man with a handgun who demanded his money. Police said when Mr. Holmes didn't comply fast enough, the gunman shot him, then fled. Mr. Holmes was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for a minor gunshot wound and held for observation.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Southwestern District -- Police arrested a 27-year-old man yesterday and charged him with assaulting a man with a gardening tool. Police said the victim, Gary Fant was in the 3200 block of Wilkens Ave. yesterday when he was attacked. An officer who was nearby arrived and arrested Darryl Deleston, of the 2200 block of E. Chase St. Police said Mr. Deleston was charged with aggravated assault and was held overnight in lieu of $25,000 bail following a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. employee reported he was seated in a company-owned truck stopped in the 1100 block of Walnut Ave. around 1:30 p.m. yesterday when he was approached by a man with a handgun who ordered him to give up his wallet. Police said that after the gunman removed more than $200, he returned the wallet to the victim, thanked him and ran away.
