3 City Men Charged With Drug Offenses

Three Annapolis men were arrested on drug charges in two incidents early Monday, city police said yesterday.

Talmadge Brown, 44, of the 200 block of Eastern Avenue, was charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine after an officer stopped him at 2 a.m. in the 1700 block of Forest Drive for speeding, police said.

According to police, the officer noticed two partially rolled marijuana cigarettes in the ash tray when he approached Brown's car. In a subsequent search, the officer also found a matchbook containing cocaine under the floor mat, police said.

An hour earlier, Leonard Chew, 34, of the 900 block of Royal Street, and Lawrence Mullen, 66, of the 1900 block of Copeland Street, were charged with possession of marijuana.

Police said that two men were sitting in a car on RoyalStreet near Copeland when a police officer noticed they were holdingbeer bottles, a violation of the state's open container law. When hesearched the car, the officer found a small bag of marijuana on the front seat.

All three were released on their own recognizance.

2 PASADENA CARS RANSACKED FRIDAY

Thieves broke into two unlocked carsparked in the 8000 block of Caliburn Court in Pasadena Friday night,stealing a computer from one and compact discs from another, county police said.

According to police, the thieves took tapes, money and a radar detector and a computer from a 1986 Nissan station wagon. The compact discs were stolen from a 1986 Toyota truck.

100 block of Virginia Avenue: March 9, entry gained through the door. Tools taken. Total loss: $470.
