Half shell for the Inner Harbor?

An architect has proposed that the $161 million Christopher Columbus Center for Marine Research and Exploration, planned for the Inner Harbor, be built to resemble a giant shell with a sculptured white roof that will stand out in daylight and glow at night.

The Evening Sun would like to know what you think. Do you favor a "strong-image" building like this, which Mayor Kurt Schmoke has nicknamed "science on the half shell?" Or would you prefer something more traditional?
