Man Charged, Two More Sought N Severn Shooting Of D.c. Man

An Annapolis man was charged with assault with intent to murder, andpolice were searching for two other men, after a 19-year-old man wasshot and seriously wounded early yesterday in Severn.

Police saidJeremiah Wanamaker, 19, of Washington was using a pay phone in the 1800 block of Richfield Drive in Severn at 4:30 a.m. yesterday when hewas approached by three men, two of them armed.

Wanamaker was shot several times in the lower parts of his body, police said. He was taken to North Arundel Hospital by friends who were in a car parked nearby at the time of the shooting, police said.

He was later transferred to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was listed in serious condition.

Police said information from Wanamaker and other sources led investigators to arrest Ramon Edwards, 21, of the 1600 block of St. Margarets Road, Annapolis, at about 3 p.m. yesterday at the intersection of Meade Village Circle and Meade Village Road in Severn. He was charged yesterday with assault with intent to murder.

Police said the shooting stemmed froma feud between Wanamaker and Edwards, and that Wanamaker said there had been a confrontation between the two at about midnight Saturday.

Police said yesterday they are continuing to search for two other suspects in the shooting, Lamar Dontia Wallace, 19, of the 1800 blockof Arwell Court, Severn, and an unidentified suspect. The second suspect was described as a black male, 19 years old, approximately 5-feet-9 and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket over a white hooded sweat shirt.
